We head to Welsh shores for this week’s Catch, with a double dose of tunes from Cardiff based producer Skimatix.
First up is an inventive Juke remix of his own Dubstep tune ‘Electroharmonic‘. Fresh in today, this chirpy uk-garage infused take on energetic US club music is a real gem. Skimatix sidesteps the popular hip-hop chants and flooded bass samples in favour of casio vibes, housey stabs and a female vocal hook, lending the track a distinctly British flavour.

If however you find the frolicking drum patterns of Footwork are all a bit much, then this second tune might be just the antidote. Skimatix is a prolific producer, with recent output covering Juke, Dubstep, House, Moombahton and Glitch Hop, and it’s a house cut we’ve chosen to share next. ’All Sould Out’ meanders along a lush, hazy path littered with minimal clicks, smooth horns and choice keys and vocals, emerging as an accomplished slice of Bashmore-esque modern house.
