Our good friends over at Subsize Records recently shared the 4th instalment of their label-launching free download series, and it’s an absolute treat. Coming from a deeper, housier angle than Subsize’s previous UKFunky-infused releases (and staying true to its namesake’s laid back reputation), ‘Sunday‘ is a wonderful cosy offering a la Mr Bashmore – and it’s hardly had a day away from the stereo since we got a copy.
B-Side ‘T For Tim‘ is a steadier sparser track, with a skippy beat, ambling sub and neon synth – if ‘Sunday‘ is Bashmore then ‘T For Tim‘ is Dark Sky. Maybe. This is the debut release from the elusive J Pharlite, but we’ve heard rumours that he might already have some serious pedigree producing other bits under a different name!
