This week sees the third release in the Dub Bait Mix Series float gently into our post-timeline, as we kick back with the super chilled sounds of Stumbleine.
Being no stranger to the atmospheric Garage/Dubstep scene you may have come across Stumbleine’s previous output before as part of the production trio Swarms. After success with two albums, a string of EPs and some high profile remixes the collective are concentrating on their respective solo projects. Although in the same atmospheric vain as the Swarms styling, Stumbleine’s new sound can perhaps be described as less Dubstep led and more broken-beat/glitch orientated with a slight drop in overall tempo.
In the short time since starting the solo project Stumbleine has managed to release three stunning EPs via his Bandcamp page and, just last week, dropped a beautiful five track collaborative EP with fellow Bristol producer Asa on the Inspected Records label, definitely worth checking out below!
We’re predicting a warm reaction to the EP and his upcoming debut album that will drop on the longstanding Monotreme label by the end of the year, so keep locked to us for updates. Stumbleine’s mix for Dub Bait brings a broad selection, old and new, as well as some firm favourites. Drifting through the likes of Burial, Jacques Greene, Essay, Brian Eno and a stack of his own productions, this is in no doubt a mix to get very lost in! I think you are wrong about the debut album, his facebook page states his debut album is for a month on Hija De Colombia label titled Ghosting – a vinyl release. I guess he is releasing two albums this year!
‘Ghosting’ is a vinyl-only release of a select few older tracks. Yesterday he also gathered together another collection of old tunes for a digital release entitled ‘Sunshine Girls’ (£4.00 – http://stumbleine.bandcamp.com/album/sunshine-girls ). Both releases are brimming with genius and well worth a purchase, but his official début album is scheduled for later in the year
