I’ve finally got round to recording a new one sixty mix, and as the first two seemed to go down well with people I thought I’d share it on here first.
Sick of trawling through a sea of sub-par Trap in a quest for the real stuff? Well today we’ll help you cut out the crap and jump straight to it – Watapachi’s ‘No.1′ EP has just dropped on our label of the moment RAW Records. The Japanese duo have been making waves recently with their distinctive no-messin’ take on the sound, and after a succession of hugely popular freebies they’ve found the ideal home for their first official release.

In the wake of his recent contribution to our mix series and with an EP set to drop on Diamante, we caught up with Norwegian Club maestro Paris Love Story (Eirik Tillerli) to talk musical inspirations, future projects and the health of his local night-life. To accompany the interview we also have the first download of ‘Obsessed‘ – a stunning new track with EP collaborator Dehousy.

Everybody’s favourite musical panda N0ms recently shared a neat little EP for the generous price of a facebook like. The young Boston producer is perhaps best known for his signature swirling high-energy footwork, but he can regularly be found turning out all kinds of different beats and for ‘Snack Pack Vol.1 it’s Hip-Hop that get’s the inimitable N0ms treatment.

Hot on the heels of Bombé‘s excellent freebie ‘Eclipse‘, B.YRSLF Division have released the latest EP to join their increasingly formidable back catalogue. Out yesterday, ‘Nautical Day’ by Seapoint is an engaging blend of Hip-Hop, Dubstep and House aesthetics all woven together by some inspired drum programming and insanely catchy vocal hooks.
2012 has been a great year for Norway’s premier Juke machine Slick Shoota, with impressive releases on Loose Squares and Mad Decent (and a contribution to B.YRSLF’s Summer Crisis), as well as remixes for the likes of Admin, Drippin & Strictface, Velma Kelly and DJ Eskilate. He has just continued this run of form with the release of a smart new EP ‘Draw’ on Russian label Hyperboloid, out last friday.

A week or so ago the wonderful Brooklyn based label Astro Nautico dropped a free album that could well end up on our ‘best of 2012′ list. With Obey City, Kuhn and Paul Jones at the helm, Astro Nautico is one of those labels that has me excitedly clicking the previews in anticipation whenever a new release appears, and the latest – Moist Ghost’s ‘Big Game Hunter’ – doesn’t disappoint.
