Springstan Present: SWINGSTANS’ NYE SPEAKEASY
Get transported to 1920s New York, an era of wild, debauched parties in the face of prohibition. This New Year’s Eve, there’s only one party worth showing your face at. Springstan is taking over Baskerville Hall, a stunning stately home in the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is an exclusive party for only 500 people.

The Oh Yeah Wow production collective based out of Melbourne, Australia, recently knocked up this little gem of a music video for one of Australia’s top instrumental and cinematic chill-tronica outfits ‘All India Radio‘ and their track Rippled, released early last year. As you know, we’re massive suckers for creative, in camera, stop frame animation work and this has got to be some of the best output we’ve seen for a while! Watch it after the jump.

The fantastic guys over at Kino 10 throw another intriguing Sunday short film night not to be missed! This time they are rolling with the ever more popular theme of East Asian short films, including an original live Narrative set to a silent film, as well as an improvised performance over classic silent Japanese anime by the musical ensemble Mute. It’s been a while since a great tune has come along without an accompanying stream of self-promotion, but we really can’t tell you anything about Adulterer. This track appeared two weeks ago with almost zero web presence – few Soundcloud followers and no Facebook likes. Eerie eh? Whatever the deal is (talented newcomer? established producer under a new name?) we think ‘Vicious Truths’ is superb!

Last month saw the US release of what we think should be a very interesting and revealing film, ‘Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of ‘A Tribe Called Quest’. The film, three years in the making from actor and director Michael Rapaport is an insightful, Cinema Verite styled documentary which delves into the music, relationships and lives of one of the most influential and iconic groups in recent Hip Hop history, A Tribe Called Quest.
