Roska – Jackpot EP X Thom Buttery (Prymedia)

…and so as the extraordinary beat-smith that is Roska drops his new ‘Jackpot EP’ our man of the moment Thom Buttery (Prymedia), who has been seemingly hijacking this blog recently with all his obsessive visual shenanigans, has won the Rinse FM competition to produce a video for one of two tunes from the new EP. Artists could choose either the title jump up track ‘Jackpot‘ or the more syncopated and hypnotic ‘Roskallion‘. Mr Buttery decided to go for the later and absolutely kills it with techniques and creative concepts  that appear alien to most other video artists.

Tri Hita Karana

Tri Hita Karana is a live-cinema performance told through multi-screen video projection and live-music directly influenced from Balinese culture. The documentary explores the Balinese philosophy of the Tri Hita Karana and how disregard for this balance has culminated in the loss of cultural values and a sustainable way of living. Diversifying from traditional documentary with the use of live performance and modern techniques, the piece is a cultural insight and exploration of documentary. Created by Joel Bates & Thom Buttery (Pry Media)

The event takes place at Cotham School, Cotham Lawn Rd, Bristol, United Kingdom, BS6 6DT on Saturday May 14th commencing at 3PM

Good friends and visual collective extraordinaires PRY MEDIA have been upping the ante recently with their intriguing animated visuals and performances. Using just a SLR’s these boys have been crafting weird and wonderful visual content for some time now since they left art college. From having been asked to perform them at many festivals and events last summer to commissions for club and festival installations this year the guys are pulling out all the stops and trying hard to keep up with increasing demand. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s very clever and joyful to watch.
